Roles
I wear many hats in my current job. Here's an overview of additional responsibilities that I've taken on on top of my daily tasks.
Brand Rep
I'm a role-model when it comes to brand-aligned events on our platform. In the monthly cross-department meetings, I always give feedback on projects other teams are working on and update mine on those topics. I stay in the role all the time, making sure that my team follows our style guidelines, and add new communication templates to our database.
Marketing & Communications Rep
Encouraging and reminding my peers to make the most of our promoting opportunities and recognize their volunteers this way is my priority. I bring ideas to cross-department exchanges for monthly themes we could use in our newsletters and on social media channels. I also coordinate updating our support materials on promotion that are available to event hosts.
Corporate Partnerships Rep
I discuss sponsored event opportunities across the globe and follow up on partnership offers.
Activation Rep
At the beginning of each month, I prepare a high-quality, inspirational email that goes out to around 1000 inactive volunteers around the globe. I come up with the copy and an original email subject, search for an eye-catching image and write the twig. It's important to think of different themes relevant for each month and feature events happening on various continents.
ONLINE SESSIONS Rep
I'm responsible for two world-wide online events aimed at recruiting and onboarding our event hosts. I plan ahead in order to have four upcoming sessions posted on the platform at all times. I absolutely love hosting them, it's a fantastic opportunity to get to know members from all corners of the world!
In this role I also come up with templates for my team to promote those sessions in their communities. Making use of hooks and other copywriting techniques is crucial to maximize #sign-ups and attendance rates.
I single-handedly improved the recruiting presentation and created the onboarding one from scratch, providing a script for each so that other team members can get involved easily and co-host the sessions. I also introduced the idea of sharing notes from sessions with attendees and prepared the brand-aligned copy.
Community Engineering Tester
Thanks to my attention to detail, I can help our engineers launch new and improved features with less bugs.
NEWSLETTER Rep
Together with the Marketing & Communications Team, I take care of the monthly newsletter sent to all our event hosts worldwide. It includes news and updates on our product and the company, as well as tips and tricks they could make use of in their role. A few outstanding events are featured each month to motivate others to host high-quality get-togethers.
